Autumn Budget 2025

Despite Ms Reeves’ commitment not to increase the tax burden on working people, several complex stealth and wealth taxes have now been introduced. A further freeze on income tax thresholds, combined with the introduction of a ‘mansion’ tax, proposed pay per mile charges for drivers of electric vehicles and additional gambling and tourism duties may spell trouble for tax payers across the board.

The question remains, what more can be done to cover this ‘black hole’ in public finances before the Chancellor must go against her manifesto promises?
